PostSubject: Vóidan, Protection paladin application   Thu Jul 01, 2010 8:58 pm

Name:

Vóidan

Class:

Paladin

Spec:

Protection is my main specialition, but I'm also willing to, and know how to play Holy/Retribution (and possess the gear required for competitive play), if the leaders of the guild want me to.

Armoury link:

My Armory (I'll try to remember to logout in my protection gear. Please notify me if I haven't.)

Professions:

Mining 450/450, Blacksmithing 450/450. I'm willing to switch mining to JC/anything else, should the guild require me to.

Why are u applying to Revenant:

I came back from a 7-month-long break, and I am in need of a good guild. I heard about Revenant from some of my friends, and heard that you guys are in need of a skilled protection paladin. Since I've always loved tanking and wanted to experience the full experience of ICC, I deceided I'd apply to Revenant.

Is there anyone in Revenant who can vouch for you:

Buzdugan, Ariannas, Trepadora, Orrion, Tará. I may have missed some people.

Previous guild. Why did u leave/ got kicked:

I left my previous guild (Otherside) due to issues with my real life, which I'd rather not speak of on the forums. Since then, I've managed to get my life under my own control, and am now able to raid like I used to, 7 months back.

What raiding experience you have:

I started playing World of Warcraft during mid-BC and quickly leveled to 70 as a dwarf warrior. I then became interested with PvP, but after a month of PvP, I found the PvE aspect of the game. I cleared all of t4 content and TK up until Kael'thas and some bosses of SSC. I then left the guild I was in due to issues with the continuation of the guild.

Patch 3.0 was already nearing, so I decided to roll a horde druid. Mainly because I didn't like the alliance side of Stormreaver. I hit level 80 in the early spring of 2009 and quickly geared myself for naxxramas and found myself a rather stable raiding guild for the summer, Skydrakes. I cleared naxxramas and Ulduar in SD. We didn't get any special hardmodes done, barring some 10-man achievements from Ulduar 10 Heroic. When SD disbanded, I joined Greener Grass, where I managed to stay for a week, until they decided to disband.

I then heard from a few other former SD members, that they had formed a new guild; Otherside. I joined otherside on my freshly-dinged paladin, since they needed a proper maintank (and since I didn't like the playstyle of feral tanking). I was the paladin/druid classleader of Otherside. We managed to clear ToC25 normal and clear Heroic 10-man with 50 tries left. We had also stepped into Heroic 25-man, but hadn't managed to kill Beasts yet at the time of my quitting.

I came back to World of Warcraft 7 months after having quit in November of 2009. I've been to ICC 10 a few times, but I'm lacking ICC 25 experience due to PuGs wanting a rather high gearscore (I, for one, don't like gearscore a single bit, since a player's skills are what matter the most.), but I know the tactics of all the fights in ICC. I'm a quick learner, after all.

What kind of PC and connection do you have:

AMD Phenom X4 955 3.21 GHz processor, 3gigs of RAM (DDR3, getting an additional 1gig soon), Ati Radeon HD4830 as my graphics card (a bit outdated, I know, thinking of replacing it soon), my network connection is reliable and my PC has never crashed during a raid. I generally do not have issues running World of Warcraft and a few other programs during 25-player raids.

We raid 3 times a week; tuesdays, thursdays and sundays and we require people to atleast raid these days. Can you raid these days?:

Yes, I can. I am probably able to hold an attendance above 90%, with some IRL events, which I have to/rather attend instead of raiding. If I don't have anything necessary and more important than raiding, I will be there.

Do you speak and understand english since this is the langauge spoken during raid?

Yes, I do. I consider myself an excellent English speaker. You may or may not find it funny, that I was born and raised in Finland, but somehow learnt to speak English with a British accent; I've been mistaken for a brit quite a few times.

Can you handle critisism and do you use this to improve your general performance?

I can handle critisism, and will listen to it, should it help me improve. I like to argue about things, so I might start an argument about whether it is better to have 3/5 Seals of The Pure or 3/3 Crusade, or something like that. Generally, though, I do listen to critisism and learn from it for the betterment of my performance, since I like to min/max.

Tell us something about yourself:

I'm Finnish. I like sausage and beer. I might sometimes be rather stubborn, but I am nice during raids and other guild events. I might be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know people, you may find that I'm a rather talkative person, who likes to spice up farm runs with harder pulls, or something else. I will not do anything that would make the raid wipe intentionally, though. I always listen to the officers/raid leaders for what they have to say, and might question some things, which I'd personally handle otherwise. In addition to World of Warcraft, I've played (and still play) Guild Wars, Counter Strike: Source, Diablo 2 (<3, waiting anxiously for 3), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and so many other FPS and RPG games, that I cannot mention them all. You could say I'm a guy interested in playing games.

I might not be able to log in during the next few days, because I'm not at home currently. Once I get back home, which should be on Tuesday, I'll log in for a chat immediately. Sorry about the delay. Thanks for the support, by the way.
